Can you tell me a special food treat at each park that I could get for my kids? Also, if there are other places, resorts, DTD etc. that have fun treats I would love to hear about them. We are not on the dining plan. Thanks

At home, I limit the amount of sugary treats that my kids eat.  You can imagine, then, how exciting it is for them when we go on vacation and I basically throw those sugar limitations out the window.  Here are some of their favorites:

Magic Kingdom: They love DoleWhips from Aloha Isle in Adventureland and the ice cream sandwiches made on freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies at Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: The ice cream in yummy waffle cones served from a giant Dinosaur (you can't miss it) at Dinosaur Gertie's are a sweet treat!

Epcot: Pastries from the bakery in France are delicious!  The kids also love Kaki Gori (basically shaved ice) from Japan.

Animal Kingdom: Despite it's nutritional status my kids love getting fresh fruit (pineapple spears, grapes, etc.) at the Harambe Fruit Market in Africa.

What comes to mind from other spots around the World: beignets from Port Orleans French Quarter, the kitchen sink sundae from Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club, and the kiddie cone dessert served at Kona Cafe.

Whatever you do though, don't leave property without going to Downtown Disney for a custom made treat from Goofy's Candy Co.  There, crispy rice Mickey ears, cookies, pretzel rods, marshmallows and more can be dipped in your choice of chocolate (milk, white, or dark) and sprinkled with your choice of toppings.  Some of the offerings include candy sprinkles, Oreo cookie crumbs, nuts or crushed peanut butter cups.  Then, the whole thing is drizzled with caramel, or more chocolate, and served up on the spot!  Other customized treats are available there including slushy drinks in customized character cups or powdered candy.  My kids LOVE that place!

Of course, after all those treats, you'll want to be sure to schedule a dentist appointment as soon as you get home.  Have fun and happy treat seeking!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
