Hi Steven,
I have spent my past two Walt Disney World vacations at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Let me share with you some things that I learned about this resort.
Overall, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is similar to Disney's Old Key West Resort in that it is a fairly spread out resort with low buildings, and feels to me like a vacation community rather than a hotel. This can be a very relaxing atmosphere for your vacation.
If you plan to use a lot of the amenities at the resort, such as frequently visiting High Rock Spring Pool, eating at The Turf Club Bar and Grill or The Artist's Palette, or playing at Community Hall, do know that these are closest to The Springs area. This is the most bustling area of the resort, so if you want to be close to the action, consider requesting accommodations in this area. This is especially true if you do not have a car with you as it can be a sizable walk to get to this area from other locations at the resort. You can also use bus transportation to get to this area, but if you are planning to access it often, accommodations in The Springs area might be a good idea. Please do note that while Disney will do their best to honor any requests, they cannot be guaranteed.
As to transportation at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, my family and I loved the relaxing boat ride along the Sassagoula River to Disney Springs. If you can, do take advantage of that. Due to the large nature of the resort, there are multiple bus stops, which is nice as this cuts down on how far you have to walk to to a bus stop; however, this can sometimes make the transportation time to theme parks and water parks seem a bit longer, so plan accordingly.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Steven. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
