Can you tell me when Santa Goofy takes over Camp Mickey and Minnie in Animal Kingdom? We will be visiting from 11/25/11 to 11/28/11. Also, any updates on if Scrooge Mcduck will be doing character greetings around that time? Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

Your trip is just a few days away!  Are you too excited to sleep yet??

Good news regarding Santa Goofy. Santa Goofy’s Holiday Village at Camp Minnie-Mickey has decked the halls big time with festive decor.  You should be able to see him daily at Disney's Animal Kingdom during your trip.  Be sure to pick up a Times Guide when you enter the park to confirm appearance times on the day you visit.  Times Guides are available at the park entrance, Guest Relations and many merchandise locations.

It seems that Scrooge McDuck is being - well - a typical Scrooge.  He is very stingy with his appearances.  I called Guest Relations.  They aren't showing any specific appearance times right now so they didn't know if or when he'd make an appearance.  When you enter a park, stop by Guest Relations.  They can check the Character Hotline to see if he'll be appearing that day.

I've also found that the Cast Members that act as character handlers are often great resources for characters finding. Feel free to ask them as well.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) will be held on Nov 27th during your visit. This may be your best bet to find Scrooge McDuck but there are no guarantees.  I haven't seen any confirmed reports of sighting him during this event so far this year.  There are some characters that are making rare appearances during MVMCP including all 7 dwarfs together in one location, the princesses with their princes and Phineas & Ferb.

Please feel free to visit us with any other questions during your planning.  We'll be here for you even up to the last minute of your trip.

Wishing you minnie magical holiday memories :-) Allison
