What can you tell me about the "rope drop" ceremonies? I hear they are lots of fun. Do all the parks have them and do you prefer to go to a particular park for this? Also, would early park entry effect the timing of the ceremonies?

Hi, Barbara! Rope drop ceremonies rule, second only to coffee in terms of priorities in the morning.

All the parks offer something in conjunction with dropping said rope. In addition to the entertainment component, you'll also be one of the first people to get into the park. Here's what you'll get, including on mornings with Extra Magic Hours.
    • Magic Kingdom Welcome is about 15 minutes prior to park opening. It consists of singing and dancing from the train station. Mickey and Co. bring it home by pulling into the train station. Probably the best one of the opening ceremonies.
    • Animal Kingdom - the Adventure Begins. About 10 minutes prior to park opening. Mickey & Co. arrive on a sweet ride to welcome you to the park.
    • Hollywood Studios - Tinseltown Talent Search. This is a Streetmosphere show performed by Citizens of Hollywood on Hollywood Boulevard 15 minutes prior to rope drop and little after rope drop.
    • Epcot. The turnstiles will open about 15 minutes prior to park opening. You'll proceed to the Innoventions area, see Mickey & Co. and possibly get selected for more magic.
