Hi Lisa,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is on my bucket list because of its amazing location, beautiful seaside theming, and of course the splash-tastic Stormalong Bay pool. One of the things I love most about this resort’s location is the ability to stroll Disney’s BoardWalk any time of day, but especially at night when you can stop on the bridge and watch Epcot’s fireworks. So magical!
I contacted a Cast Member, who confirmed that all rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort have completed refurbishments, and you will not find a carpet in any of the rooms. I’m suffer from asthma and allergies, so I completely understand your concerns. Although it sounds like you’ll be all set this time, please know that you can always call Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to request an allergy-friendly room; a Cast Member will listen to your needs and put in the request for you. (Even if the request is for a reason other than allergies, you can always call to add requests to your reservation, though they cannot be guaranteed.)
Lisa, I recently stayed in an uncarpeted room at Walt Disney World, and while I really liked the look and clean feeling, I advise throwing a light pair of slippers in your bag. After all those magical miles, the floors felt hard on my tired feet.
One last thing: I highly recommend booking Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at
Cape May Café during your stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The food was really delicious, meeting the characters in their dreamy retro swim costumes was fantastic, and I just can’t get enough of that sassy Daisy Duck!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
