Can you tell me about the properties near Downtown Disney? Any resorts worthwhile there? From reading it seems like my family would enjoy wandering around there. I am leaning toward either the Beach or Yacht club, just for the pool, but was curious...

    Hi Steven:

My family has stayed at Saratoga Springs on five different occasions, which is a short walk from Downtown Disney.  If choosing between Yacht or Beach Club and Saratoga Springs or a Downtown Disney Resort, I would choose Yacht or Beach Club.  As you mention, Yacht and Beach Club share Stormalong Bay, the best Resort pool at Disney World.  Stormalong Bay is like a mini-water park, covering three acres and features a lazy river and huge water slide.  Yacht and Beach Club also has a great location in the Boardwalk area, which features dining, shopping, and entertainment right outside of your Resort.  The Boardwalk area is not as expansive as Downtown Disney, but it’s very convenient to Yacht and Beach Clubs.  The Resorts are also a short walk to Epcot and a longer stroll or short boatride to Hollywood Studios.  For your visits to Downtown Disney, just hop a bus to Downtown Disney.

While Saratoga Springs is a wonderful Resort, on the whole, I think it has a bit less to offer, and I think you’ll get a lot more about of Yacht or Beach Club.  But if you ultimately believe being closer to Downtown Disney is right for you, request the Congress Park section of Saratoga Springs, which will put you close to Downtown Disney.

    Enjoy your vacation
