Can you tell me how the "preview" period (starting November 19th, 2012) for the new Fantasyland Attractions works? We are visiting the week before the Grand Opening and are wondering if we will be able to check out the new attractions?

    Hello, Dione!

You're heading to Walt Disney World one week before the Grand Opening of the New Fantasyland expansion! How lucky you are!

Take a look at this very informative post at Disney Parks Blog which describes how the preview, which starts on November 19th, works. According to the author of the post, Jennifer Fickley-Baker, "The preview period gives regular park guests a chance to experience the new area and its attractions prior to the grand opening in December. During a preview period, attractions and experiences may experience limited operating hours." As such, you most likely will be able to experience some, if not all, of these attractions and experiences on your upcoming trip to WDW, provided you happen to be there while they are operating. Be sure to subscribe to that blog, too, for updates as they become available.

I was lucky enough to be in WDW during the preview of the New Fantasyland train station, The Barnstormer and one of the two new Dumbo the Flying Elephant rides and asked Cast Members in that area for information about operating hours during the remainder of my trip. They were very helpful in advising me on return times, crowd levels on previous days, etc., so be sure to ask Cast Members for information when you're there in November.

Have a spectacular trip and be sure to send more questions as you think of them! We love to help!
