Hi there, can you tell me please if the Savi lightsaber can be dismantled for travel and does American Airlines allow these as carry on? We need to get these back to Australia. Thanks.

Bright suns, Richard. We're so glad you stopped by planDisney with this question because these are the answers you are looking for.

I'm so glad to hear that you are planning to make a trip to the planet of Batuu during your visit to the Disneyland Resort. And I can't think of a better way to commemorate the occasion than by building your own custom lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers at the Disneyland Resort. After all, blasters are so uncivilized.

I have great news to share, Richard. The lightsaber blade can be removed from the hilt for easy transport of your precious cargo. Each airline has its own policy about what kind of space cargo is allowable as a carry-on. I recommend reaching out directly to your air carrier to understand exactly what their policy is.

As you are exploring the Black Spire Outpost, keep a keen eye open. You never know who you might encounter as you are wandering around. I also recommend stopping by Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo for a Cold Brew Black Caf. It's one of my favorite refreshments while I'm "on planet" and perfect for a midday pick-me-up. You might even be visiting during the Season of the Force where there will be many Star Wars experiences for you to enjoy.

Well, Richard, I hope this has been helpful as you are making plans for your visit. Here's wishing you a most magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

May the Force be with you,
    Michelle
