Can you tell me about how much I should plan on spending for meals per day 6 adults and a three year old

Hey there, Renee and welcome back to planDisney! As a guest who plans my family’s days around dining, I’m thrilled to talk to you about your plans to snack, munch, slurp, nibble, relish, devour… okay, well... you get the idea!

Renee, while planning out your meals is important, budgeting for those meals is just as important and certainly part of the behind-the-scenes Magic that turns a vacation dream into a reality. Since you’re hoping to budget for six adults and one younger Mouseketeer, you’ll first need to think about your dining habits. For example, do you want to maximize your time on attractions and mostly stick to snacks and grab-and-go items (like Mickey pretzels or the infamous turkey leg)? Or maybe you’d like to enjoy a couple of Quick-Service meals that are a bit more substantial but still quick and easy. Are you hoping to savor a more relaxing dining atmosphere at a Table-Service meal or treat yourself to a Signature Dining experience?

Renee, all of the above questions are important as the price range per day you’ll spend on food can vary GREATLY depending on your answers. For example, if my family visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios and had a quick muffin and coffee for breakfast and then two Quick-Service meals (one at Woody’s Lunch Box and the other at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo), we would likely budget $45-60 per adult for the day. As an alternate example, visiting Magic Kingdom Park and enjoying a grab and go breakfast at our Disney Resorts Collection hotel, lunch at Columbia Harbor House and a Table Service dinner at The Crystal Palace, we would likely budget $70-95 per adult for the day. Now, Renee, first please keep in mind that these are just two estimates based on my family’s experiences and that prices are subject to change. Instead of only using my examples, I encourage you to really browse through all of the restaurant menus posted on the Walt Disney World website because you’ll be able to get a much more accurate estimate that fits your family. By starting HERE you can search by dining experience and filter by park!

Renee, I hope this helps you serve up a great vacation for your entire party. If you need any dining recommendations or have additional questions, don't hesitate to come on back to planDisney where we're always cooking up some ANSWERS!
