Hiya, Heather, and welcome to planDisney!
Interacting with characters has quickly become one of my favorite things to do on my Walt Disney World Resort vacations, and my kids have loved meeting Winnie the Pooh, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and the rest of the gang! When it's time to head back home, I wish there was a way to capture the magic that character meet-and-greets create.
At this time there is no designated phone number to call to interact with or hear from characters. There are, however, a variety of on-property options available to you once you arrive at Disney World. Let's break these offerings down:
- Use the "Hey, Disney!" device in your Disney Resort hotel room. You can ask your "Hey, Disney!" for a wake up call from a variety of characters, and this is the perfect way to start your adventurous day at the theme parks or a relaxing resort day spent poolside. There are also other interactive experiences available on this device, so be sure to check it out when you arrive to your room.
- Reserve a character dining experience. My favorite is Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe. I love getting autographs and photos with my favorite characters while I enjoy a meal with the family! Food and fun, what could be better?
- Look for character experiences in the parks and around the resort. There are shows and performances featuring your favorite characters, and there are also opportunities for up close and personal encounters! I met Asha on a recent trip to EPCOT and my daughter met Olaf over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, so check to see where your favorites will be waiting to greet you.
Heather, I know it might be disappointing to hear that you won't be able to call your favorite characters, but I hope you'll have amazing interactions with them once you arrive to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Meet me back here at planDisney with any other vacation planning questions!
Stay magical,
Scott
