Tell me about leaving parks midday to take nap breaks. How quickly do you get back to Disney hotel? When you return, is it to same park or different one? Any tips? Seems like a lot of back and forth, but I'm told it will be worth it to have rested kiddos!

Hello, Amanda!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

You just have to love nap time!  Two of my three boys are teenagers, but nap time is still a must with every Walt Disney World visit.  First tip, set a time to leave the park and stick to it.  This way your family understands that you will be departing the park for some much needed rest and swaying from it will not be an option.  Many temper tantrums were squashed since a goal was set.  I usually leave the parks at 2:00 or 3:00 o'clock.  It will usually take approximately 30-45 minutes to get back to your WDW Resort depending on which resort you are staying at.  Now if you are at the Magic Kingdom and staying at one of the resorts which the Monorail services, you will be home in less than 10 minutes!  Second tip, once you arrive at your resort, set a time to start heading back to the park.  I require a two hour nap.  Don't forget to set your alarm. Third tip, close the curtains, turn off the lights and do not allow any electronic devices or television.  You will be amazed how quickly everyone falls asleep.  It never fails! Everyone will be in a much better mood and ready to tackle the evening hours.

If you purchased park tickets with the Park Hopper Option, they you may go to any park your heart desires later in the evening. If not, simply head on back to the park you were at earlier in the day prior to your nap.
