Hi there, Roslyn!
Thank you for sending your question to me about two of my favorite attractions at Disneyland Resort. I am so excited that your family is visiting "The Happiest Place on Earth" for the first time!
Both Haunted Mansion and "it's a small world" typically close for refurbishment in mid-January to remove their holiday overlays. In past years, they often reopened in late January or early February, although we do not yet know what the closure and reopening schedules will look like for 2025. I would not reschedule your vacation if those dates work best for you. Even if one or both of those attractions are closed for refurbishment, there are still plenty of fun activities and experiences that your family can enjoy (such as the recently opened,
Tiana's Bayou Adventure)!
Disneyland Resort consists of two theme parks,
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park, plus the
Downtown Disney District (which has great food and shopping!). Everything is within walking distance at Disneyland, which is why I usually recommend purchasing Park Hopper Tickets. My family frequently spends the morning in one park and the evening in the other park (with an afternoon pool break). Disneyland Park often stays open later than Disney California Adventure Park, making it easy to visit both parks on the same evening.
To visit a theme park, Guests need to purchase theme park tickets and make
park reservations. Park reservations sometimes become unavailable the closer it is to your preferred arrival date. To avoid any disappointment, I suggest purchasing your tickets and making your park reservations soon. Park reservations can also be modified if you need to change dates (subject to availability and the expiration date on your tickets).
Make sure to check out the
Kids Special Ticket Offer! This fantastic promotion allows kids between 3 to 9 years old to visit a Disneyland theme park for a reduced price between January 7 through March 20, 2025 (subject to restrictions and park reservation availability). Park hopper upgrades are also available for an additional fee.
Roslyn, I hope this information was helpful! You can check the
Hours & Events Calendar as it gets closer to your arrival date to see which attractions are expected to be closed for refurbishment. Also, make sure to download the
Disneyland mobile app before your trip to view park parks, access park tickets, make dining reservations, and more! Do not hesitate to
contact me again if you have additional questions!
Magic Happens!
