Ahoy there, Marcia! It's great to have you alongside here at planDisney! I see you're already thinking about not only one Disney Cruise Line vacation, but at least two! That's a planDrew-approved approach to cruising if you ask me - you're already planning like an expert!
My wife and I almost always
book a placeholder when we take a Disney Cruise Line vacation - not only because of all the currently offered benefits like 10% off prevailing rates, reduced deposit on sailings seven nights and longer, and more, but because it's always easier to say "see ya real soon" to the Disney Cruise Line ships when we have another one to look forward to in the near future!
Oh yeah! Speaking of near future, that's the answer to your question: a placeholder can be converted to a sailing within TWO YEARS from the date of the placeholder booking! So whether you know exactly what your next itinerary will be, or want to wait for the next batch of itineraries to be announced - or for the next ship joining the fleet after the arrival of the
Disney Wish this summer - you've got the flexibility you need! Converting a placeholder is faster than saying "Kuzcotopia," and just takes a
call to a crew member with your onboard reservation number from the email you'll receive after booking on the ship!
Another benefit to the placeholder is that if for some reason you forget you have one for two years it automatically cancels and you'll be refunded your deposit! Hey, it happens!
Oh, and one more thing! I always remind myself to look at unique itineraries when booking my placeholder! In years past, these itineraries have taken us to the Southern Caribbean to the Canadian Coast and numerous
exciting destinations in between...so set a course for adventure!
I hope that helps you as you align the stars and find your way across the great ocean, Marcia! Thank you for your question, and if any others surface as you continue your planning, please sail back over to planDisney and drop me another line!
Adventure is out there!
Andrew
