Can you tell me when the Disney Dinning Plan and Character Dinning ( without distancing) will be back

    Hello Cindy,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Whether it's your first visit or 100th visit, it's always exciting to think about your next trip to Walt Disney World!

As a fan of Disney Dining Plans, I can't wait for them to return. It's so convenient to be able to have the majority of your meals pre-paid and to save a little money in the process. Although dining plans will return at some point, there still is not a specific date. In the meantime, I've found that by purchasing Disney Gift Cards set aside just for dining purposes allows me to have a similar carefree experience when it comes to dining during my vacation that I had when I purchased a Dining Plan. I know it's not quite the same, but it helps a little.

As for character dining, again, I love when the characters come right up to the table, sign our autograph books, give everyone a hug, and pose for photos. Our family has had some priceless experiences dining with our favorite characters. Although they are still socially distanced right now, and I'm not sure when that will change, I can tell you that character dining is still a treat. We recently had breakfast at Tusker House Restaurant in Disney's Animal Kingdom, and the characters were amazing when it came to interacting and even posing for some fun, albeit, distant photos. We still had an unforgettable experience!

If you are waiting for the Disney Dining Plans and Character Dining to return before you make plans to visit Walt Disney World, keep checking back. Changes can happen at any time. In the meantime, I can assure you that there are still many magical moments to be had!

Mickey hopes to see ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
