    Can you tell me about carriage rides -please. How much, how long and where from? I am staying offsite. Do you have to be a resort guest to take advantage of such activities? Thanks from the UK

    Hi,

    I will give you a few options for carriage rides as you were not specific enough with what type of carriage ride you are referring to.  You can go on a horse car or a horseless carriage in Magic Kingdom and this is a complimentary experience (with your paid park admission) that is quite unique (omnibus, jitney, or fire engines are other options for this experience as well).  Catch a ride in Town Square or in front of Cinderella Castle near Central Plaza for your nostalgic one-way journey.

    Horse-Drawn Excursions are also available at Fort Wilderness Campground.  You can take a relaxing, old-fashioned carriage or wagon ride through the beautiful and serene woodlands.  I have always loved Fort Wilderness and this is the one experience I really think is a lot of fun.   Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside also offers a similar horse drawn excursion.  Take a relaxing ride through the beautiful byways of the land along the Sassagoula.  As I am not sure of the current times or pricing I suggest you call (407)WDW-PLAY (939-7529) for more information or to make reservations.

    I think you sound like you are looking for the Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans Riverside experiences, just in case there are other similar ones I am not aware of  please call the (407)WDW-PLAY number for additional possibilities.  Good luck in your ventures, and I hope you find what you are looking for.  Also, you do not have to be a Disney Resort guest to enjoy these activities.
