Hello, Dolores! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. With a whole week to explore all the magic of the
Holidays, I’m certain you will have a perfectly jolly old time!
The Candlelight Ceremony and Processional will indeed take place during the final days of your trip as it is scheduled for December 1 and 2 this year. There are usually two shows per night and they feature a celebrity narrator and glorious choirs. The only tricky part about this event is that it is largely invitation only. There are very few areas where regular park Guests can view the show and people have been known to stake out their spots for hours ahead of time. Since Cast Members have to keep crowds moving and the area safe, it can be a delicate maneuver to actually get a spot to stand to watch the show. I suggest arriving early and speaking to Cast Members in the area to see if they can recommend a good strategy for viewing the show.
Since you’ll be spending several days in the parks, definitely try to see all the different holiday lightings that happen each evening. The trees in both parks will illuminate once the sun sets and the Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle usually happens twice per night. However, the crown jewel of the holiday season, in my opinion, is seeing the
“it’s a small world” Holiday Lighting that takes place early in the evening. There is a brief projection show and then the entire façade of the attraction will light up in thousands of twinkling lights. It’s mesmerizing!
I hope you have a very merry time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
