Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Maureen ~
There are several
parking options at the Walt Disney World Resort. Preferred parking is available at all four of the theme parks. The preferred parking areas are located near the front entrances of each theme park. It is only a short walk and you will not need to take a tram. I find that the preferred lots are great especially if you are traveling with strollers that would have to be folded to board a tram. This makes it super convenient.
The exception to this is the preferred parking at the Magic Kingdom. Their preferred parking area is located near the Transportation and Ticket Center. It is a short walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center and no tram service is provided. From there you will need to take a ferry boat or monorail to the Magic Kingdom. They also typically offer bus service especially during peak seasons like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Standard self-parking at the four theme parks is free for all Guests who are current
Annual Passholders or who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Those Guests who wish to upgrade from standard self-parking to preferred parking will only need to pay the difference. For example, the current fee for standard self-parking at all four of the theme parks is $20.00. Preferred parking is $40.00. If you want to upgrade, you only have to pay the $20.00 difference. Please keep in mind that parking rates are always subject to change without notice so these prices may differ during your visit.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
