Could you tell me if anything special happens during the evening extra magic hours at Animal Kingdom? Is this a "must do" or should we skip it? Also, besides Chef Mickey's, do you have any dining suggestions for a 5yr. old birthday dinner? Tha

Hi Amy - Evening Magic Hours are an opportunity for guests of Walt Disney World resorts to experience the parks for hours that the park is not open to outside guests.  Not every attraction is open during magic hours, and the parks can be crowded.

Nothing special goes on, although at Animal Kingdom, it's the chance to see the park at night (it usually closes early in the evening).  I was recently at Animal Kingdom at night and it was so much fun to experience Expedition Everest in the dark!

As for a birthday dinner celebration, I'd also recommend the Crystal Palace, which is a buffet hosted by Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger.

    Have a great vacation!
