Hi Rene!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting that you'll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort in 2019! Be sure to frequently check the
Disney Parks Blog between now and your vacation so you won't miss a minute of the newest Disney news.
When I was 16, a friend invited me along on her family vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth. We were definitely ride and attraction obsessed. I vividly remember hopping between three parks in one day and declaring that we had 'done everything' when in fact we had seen zero shows, parades, stage shows and hugged zero characters. So your
teens might do the same. But with some strategic planning I bet you'll be able to both feed and entertain them while keeping their full attention to what's going on at the table.
Float the idea of a Character Meal. They might be too cool to be seen with you in public back home, but they are bound to still love their favorite childhood Disney characters and play along with all of the meet & greet fun. Some really great in-park
Table-Service Dining Locations that beat dining boredom by provide a bit of entertainment are 50's Prime Time Cafe, Teppan Edo, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant, and Biergarten Restaurant. Or, if you want to circumvent their angst of wanting to rush through meals to get back to rides, book a reservation at a Disney Resort Hotel or at Disney Springs and stick to Quick-Service while in the parks. Some teen-approved non-park Table-Service Meals are Whispering Canyon Cafe, Planet Hollywood, and Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. (Try being moody when noshing on a multi-person Kitchen Sink Sundae!)
I hope this helped, Rene, and We'll See You Real Soon!
