Hello Sandy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
When I travel through the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, I am always wearing my backpack. There certain times and certain attractions, where I do not even bother to take it off when boarding rides and I can not only fit comfortably but I am not too concerned about damaging the precious cargo.
Wearing your backpack on most attractions will be an option for your teenagers, however in many instances the lap bars or restraining belts make for an uncomfortable fit. One of the things I love about Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park attractions is that most have built-in pouches or areas to place your personal belongings while you ride.
Thrill rides with over the shoulder restraints like
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park or secure lap bars like
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park require you to take of your backpack to enter the vehicle.
I recommend a reasonably small-sized backpack for carrying throughout the Theme Parks as it doesn't become cumbersome, can be brought onto and stored on most attractions and worn comfortably on dark rides like
Peter Pan's Flight without removing it.
Remember that all bags brought into the Theme Park are subject to search through
Security Clearance before being granted entrance.
Have a Magical Visit!
