Hiya Katie,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are so honored that you continue to visit us to help plan your Walt Disney World Resort Vacations! I’m so sorry about the broken leg and surgery. I’m sure that a visit to Walt Disney World will help brighten his day.
I spoke to a Cast Member, and yes, you are welcome to bring and use your own
Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) with you to Walt Disney World Resort. Since rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, this is an ideal way to ensure you always have an ECV available for your party companion. Also, to rent and operate rented ECVs, Guests must be at least 18 years old, so your teenaged Mouseketeer may be ineligible to operate a rented one.
Lastly, you may be wondering about how your Guest can enjoy Walt Disney World attractions while utilizing his ECV. Luckily, Walt Disney World Resort has created a
handy website guide that details accessibility access for all attractions. Some attractions may require your Guest to walk with assistance, but there are quite a few attractions that he will be able to remain in the ECV inside of the attraction vehicle. Be sure to take a look before your visit to be prepared for not only what attractions you want to add to your itinerary but also which Walt Disney World Resort transportation systems would work best for your group.
I hope that you and your party have a magical trip! Come back and see us if there is anything else we can help you with.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
