Greetings, Lindsay, and welcome to planDisney. Your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is just around the corner. It's a great time to visit, too, since the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration just kicked off.
Lindsay, hakuna matata! It shouldn't be a problem if the name on your teenager's theme park ticket is different from their preferred name. A ticket is officially assigned to a Guest when it's scanned at the park entrance for the first time. At that point, a Cast Member will take the Guest's photo, and from then on, that photo is used for verification when entering the park.
There may be some instances where it would be a good idea to update the name on a ticket – one example I can think of is special offer tickets that require adults to confirm address eligibility with a government-issued photo ID. However, I wouldn't worry about it for standard theme park tickets, especially for kids and teens.
Of course, if you prefer to change the name on an unused ticket, it's easy to do. Just give the
Ticket support phone line a call ahead of your trip and talk with a Cast Member. They will be glad to assist you with the name change!
Lindsay, I'm excited for you to enjoy all of the entertainment, food, and merchandise offerings at the Disneyland Resort for the
70th Anniversary. There are shows both during the day and at night, bringing high energy and amazing soundtracks. If you want to add a little pixie dust to your trip,
consider a dining package. There are a few different ones to choose from, and it's a great way to eat while also securing reserved viewing for certain shows. If you have the MagicBand+, bring it with you and visit stations around Disneyland where you can
unlock special interactions as part of the 70th Anniversary!
I hope this information makes your arrival at the Disneyland Resort as smooth as a magic carpet ride, Lindsay! If you have any other questions ahead of your trip, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
As Mickey would say, “See ya real soon!”
