My teenage daughter & I will be traveling to WDW July 7-14. I want to try to get the best FastPasses so on May 8th I can do that but what time does the system open? Is it at 12:01am?

    Hello, Melissa,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  It sounds like you may already have a great plan in place for the FastPass+ Selections you'd like to enjoy during your summer trip.  Before you begin making your selections, you will want to make sure your daughter has been added to your Family & Friends list. You will also want to have linked your vacation package, tickets, or annual passes to your Disney account beforehand.

As a Disney Resort Hotel guest, you can begin making your FastPass+ selections at 7:00 AM Eastern Time when you are 60 days out from your arrival date.  If you are not a Disney Resort Hotel guest, you can make your selections when you are 30 days out from the days you plan to visit the theme parks; the time is the same at 7:00 AM Eastern Time.

I always suggest starting with your highest priority attractions first and allowing for some flexibility rather than approaching your selections chronologically.  For example, my family loves Avatar Flight of Passage, which is incredibly popular. Because it is our favorite and highest priority, I start searching for FastPass+ availability for this attraction first and sometimes have to try searching different days than I had initially planned. You may even find it easiest to start searching for availability on the finals days of your trip first.

Wishing you a magical trip with your daughter and hope you have a chance to enjoy the many new things coming to Walt Disney World in 2020!  Please let us know if we can help with any further questions. -Kara
