Hiya, Sharyn!
Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy that you found us hEAR, and thank you so much for sending this
Disneyland Resort vacation planning question our way!
I love that you're planning your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth so far in advance! This is a great question. One of the new park procedures to come out of the pandemic is that Guests need to have a
Park Pass Reservation in addition to a
Theme Park Admission Ticket. Both the tickets as well as
Park Pass Reservations are date-based, but the Park Pass Reservations go so far as to designate which park you plan to play in on which day. If you added on the Park Hopper option, your selected park will be the one you start your day in, and you'll be allowed to 'hop' over to the other theme park after 1:00 P.M.
At the current time, Park Pass Reservations are only able to be made 120 days in advance of your visit to Mickey's house. Another caveat is that Guests are only able to select their dates as each Disney day opens; total vacation dates cannot be reserved as soon as the first day opens. In your case, Sharyn, you can go ahead and buy your
Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package ahead of time, but you will need to log back into your
My Disneyland Account to reserve your Disney dates. This can be done over five individual dates as each of your vacation days opens, or you can wait until the 5th day is exactly 120 days away. In my experience both as a Guest as well as a Panelist, dates do not fill up for the first month or two that they are available for booking, so you should be fine if you can't get to booking these dates right away.
I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Sharyn! Be sure to follow the
