Hi team, we have booked our cruise on the Wonder later this year from Sydney, we are travelling with a 3yr old, With the oceaneers club, are younger kids, say 3 -5 kept away from older kids - say 6 - 10 or are they all in one big group?

Hi Mario! I am so glad you sailed by planDisney with this question as you plan to enjoy the Wonder of a Disney Cruise Line vacation.

Your little Mouseketeer will have so much fun exploring everything in Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab. I wish I could assemble with the Avengers in the Marvel Super Hero Academy. Luckily, there are Open House hours, so I can wander into Andy's Room and feel the joy of being a toy. The Club and Lab have separate entrances but are connected, and youth can move freely between them. Together, it is a large, open space with the freedom to move where your heart takes you. But it is also a collection of small spaces with areas to play (like Andy's Room), do arts and crafts, dance, engage in group games, and so much more. Making it all work is the team of Youth Counselors. They organize activities and engage kids in large and small group activities based on age and interests. I loved that when I picked up my kids, they would tell me where they had spent their time and what they enjoyed doing.

The Youth Counselors also create special activities for the youngest Mousketeers, ages 3 and 4. These are voluntary for the little ones but designed to give them extra attention and dedicated activities.

Amazingly, my kids felt like they had all the freedom they could ever want, yet they were in a highly supervised and engaging environment. It's Disney magic at its best!

I mentioned the Open House hours. The Youth Activity areas are open to everyone for a few hours on the first day and at different times during the cruise. This is a great time to stop by and see what it's all about. It will also help your 3-year-old explore a new space with you right there.

You can also use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to see when there are scheduled activities. On the app, click "Explore," select the day and scroll to "Youth Clubs." If you find an activity you want, click on the heart, and it will appear in your plans. From my experience, especially for the first drop-off, it's easier when they walk straight into a scheduled activity.

Now, while your little one is enjoying being with new friends in the Oceaneers Club, have you thought about how to spend that quality adult time? I like getting a drink and soaking up the ocean air and sunshine by the Quiet Cove Pool or catching one of the movies I've been meaning to see in the Buena Vista Theater. Disney Cruises are 3-in-1 vacations: your family, your partner, and you. Quality time for all the relationships that matter so much!

Mario, if you have any other questions as you plan your cruise, please come back by planDisney. You have a friend in us!
