Hi there Caryn, and welcome to
planDisney!
As a parent of school-age children, let me just start by offering you a great big THANK YOU for everything you did and continue to do during the pandemic. It sure feels like the past year was conjured up by the Disney Villains, and heroes like health care workers and educators certainly stepped up and tackled some new challenges. What better place to celebrate your accomplishments than the Most Magical Place on Earth!
As a fellow teacher, I appreciate discounts wherever I can find them. While
Walt Disney World itself doesn't offer specially priced tickets for teachers, check to see if your school system is affiliated with a third-party vendor; I am eligible for discounts on entertainment and other activities through Tickets at Work, and I have purchased
Disney theme park tickets on this site. Additionally, if you belong to AAA or Costco, you might find discounted tickets or vacation packages there, targeted at all members, not specifically teachers.
My husband is also a teacher, and we like to take advantage of hotel discounts in the Orlando area when we can.
The Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel frequently has educator rates (you need to call the hotel directly to get them) and the
Disney Springs Area Resort Hotels recently offered a limited-time discount to teachers and first responders. Saving money on my accommodations means I have more to spend on souvenEARs and Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars!
I hope this gives you some ideas for how your teacher status can help on your Walt Disney World adventure. Best wishes for a relaxing trip before another school year comes around!
