It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sandra! I'm so glad that you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort with a large group. I went to Walt Disney World Resort with a big group of my friends last year and it was one of the best vacations I've ever had! Make sure to plan lots of time together, but don't be afraid to split up into smaller groups so everyone gets a chance to see all of their favorite sights and ride all of their favorite attractions. You can always come back together for big things you can do as a group like watching the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade or
EPCOT Forever!
When you're dining at Walt Disney World Resort, you'll find that the tax rate is 6.5% and an automatic gratuity of 18% will be added for parties of six or more. The same automatic gratuity is also included for large groups if you're dining at a
buffet or family-style meal. You can check your bill when it arrives and all of those amounts will be listed out clearly there for you to have a look at. Taxes are included with your Table-Service credit if you're using the
Disney Dining Plan but the gratuity is not, so be sure to plan for that when you're budgeting for your trip!
Since you're coming with a big group I can't let you go without letting you know about some of my favorite restaurants for larger parties. I think that buffet and family-style meals are perfect for big families because there's something for everyone and the food just keeps coming.
'Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is my favorite place to eat with a big group because the name literally means family! It's a wonderful place to gather over some incredible food and enjoy time together.
Whispering Canyon Cafe at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is great for you if your group likes to get in on the action and have fun with your server and other guests, so take a look at the menu and see if it speaks to you!
Have a magical day, Sandra!
