What is the tax rate at Disney on dining on merchandise on resort stays???

    Hi Emily!

Considering tax rates is smart budgeting! Knowing exactly what you are spending will help assure you leave a large enough amount in your spending plan for Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars and Dole Whips!

Walt Disney World covers a vast area with property in two counties-Orange and Osceola. Both of these counties add an additional, but different, amount to the Florida state sales tax of 6%. Theme park tickets and most merchandise in the parks are Orange County purchases with a sales tax of 6.5%. Anything bought in Osceola County incurs a 7.5% sales tax. Groceries are typically tax free, but prepared and restaurant food receives the same sales tax treatment as merchandise.

Walt Disney World Resorts are subject to an additional tourism tax that applies to Orlando area hotels. This extra fee is 6%, so Orange County resorts have a 12.5% tax rate and Osceola resorts have 13.5% tax rate. The only Walt Disney World hotels in Osceola County are the Disney's All-Star Resorts.

Wishing you a wonderful visit to see Mickey!
