Hello Lisa!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an excellent question!
As an international Guest myself traveling from Brazil, I am also concerned about taxes and especially the current exchange rate!
Nobody likes to have surprises when it comes to budgeting, but it is my personal experience that the final price you get when you book a
vacation package with tickets online is the actual price that will be charged from your credit card. The final price with taxes in United States dollars is always informed before you hit the send button for payment. If you are looking at prices for meals at restaurant websites, please note that those do not include taxes and tips, unless you are booking a special experience such as dinner shows, dessert parties, and signature dining experiences like Cinderella’s Royal Table. These are usually charged at the time of reservation, and already include taxes and gratuities. Taxes are also added to merchandise after you ring them at the cashier, so when you see prices on tags you should remember that is not the final price you will pay.
As for the current exchange rate, I usually check online at websites such as XE Currency Converter, but I always call my bank or a couple of local currency exchange stores. Please note that when you book online your credit card will most likely be charged in U.S. dollars, and when you receive your credit card invoice for payment your bank will convert the amount into your local currency, so the exchange rate used will also depend on the date your bank closes your monthly statement.
I hope this helps you while planning, Lisa! Thank you for sending another question our way!
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
