Dawn from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I've been tasked with planning a trip to Fort Wilderness for our Cub Scout Pack. I don't know where to begin. We'd be driving in separately with a Pack trailer and many tents. This doesn't seem like a normal reservation I could do online.

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Dawn.

I think it is super exciting that you are planning a trip to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground with your cub scout pack, Dawn. You guys are going to make so many memories doing that that will last a lifetime. I stay at The Fort, as it is lovingly nicknamed, a few times a year and it is always a fun time.

Dawn, I think you are right. You aren't going to be able to use the normal reservation system because I'm thinking your group is going to be too large. However, there is a special team dedicated to group camping. The number to call is (407) 939-7807. You'll need to listen to the menu options and then select the coordinating number to reach the Group Camping specialist. You can call that number Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Mickey Mouse's time. A specialist will be able to help you set it all up.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is such a fun, big place but it is really spread out. What I would recommend doing, Dawn, is bringing bikes or renting a golf cart once you get there. To rent a golf cart you can call 407-WDW-PLAY. They start renting golf carts a year in advance, however, maybe that is something you can also talk to the group camping specialist about.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction, Dawn. If you have any other questions along the way, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
