    Hi Tanya, Trying to choose between CBR and FQ. Stayed at FQ last time as it seemed more quiet/calming for son with ADHD. Should we go for something new or tried and true? He loves pirates but his well being is paramount. Huge crowds at CBR? Too busy? THX!

    Thanks so much for writing!

    I recently had an opportunity to see the new pirate-themed rooms at Caribbean Beach, and they were amazing. The attention to detail is incredible, with beds that resemble pirate ships, jolly roger curtains, and a treasure map carpet!  The main pool at the resort is, in my opinion, the best-themed at the moderate resorts.  The pirate splash pool is incredible with canons, waterfalls and great slides.  The new rooms are quite popular, and consequently, CBR is a top choice for many pirate-loving families.  The main pool area can get crowded during the day, but this is the case with all of the resorts, and largely depends on the time of year you travel and the weather.  The good thing is that there are actually nine pools at CBR, which enables guests to spread out among them.

    I would agree that Port Orleans French Quarter is more of a serene, quiet atmosphere.  I went there with my husband a few years back, and we enjoyed long walks and the romantic environment. 

    Regarding which resort will make your son most comfortable, I think it depends on a number of factors.  Is it possible for you to travel during a value season, when crowds and the weather are moderate?  I think both of these would be beneficial to your little pirate, and might make CBR a great choice.  The place you'd notice crowds the most is at the main pool.  If you visit the pool at hours that most of the resort's guests are hitting the parks, that might help.  Many people start their day at the parks and then head back for a swim mid-day.  I'd suggest heading to the pool early in the day, and the parks later on. 

    I hope some of my thoughts help you decide.  I'd bet your own "mommy instincts" regarding which home away from home would make your son's visit the most magical are right, so I'd go with those.
