    Hi Tanya!! I noticed that space mtn will be closed:( during our Nov.trip.Does Disney ever finish early on refurbs?Ist trip for 2 dd's and already saddened by this news! thanks for all your help so far!! Susan, NH

    Hi there Susan!

    Thanks for writing to me!  Let me start by saying that I'm totally bummed that Space Mountain will be closed during one of my upcoming trips too, as my youngest just made the height requirement (by the skin of his teeth) a few weeks ago!  I will say that in my experience, when an attraction is closed for an extensive refurbishment, what opens back up is truly spectacular and much better than before, so we are excited for Space Mountain's debut when it's all spiffied up! I'm thinking you need to plan a repeat trip with your princesses too!   I'll also add that in my experience, Disney does a pretty good job at estimating how long attractions will be down for, and most I have seen have opened right around the time it was predicted.  You can always check to see if Space Mountain will be open before you arrive by calling the operational updates line at 407-939-6244.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

    In the interim, I suggest, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain and Goofy Barnstormer at Magic Kingdom to quench your "need for speed."  If you are really adventurous, I'd add Rockin' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios to my "must see" list as well.  (It takes place in the dark, just like Space Mountain, but it's much faster and goes upside down!)  My clan also LOVES Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom (this one falls in between Space Mountain and Rockin' Roller Coaster on the "scary" scale!)

    I'm sorry Space Mountain won't be open during your visit, but I'm guessing you'll find a whole bunch of fabulous roller coasters for your girls!
