Kids on attraction

I have a tall 2yo(40") and 6yo. Spouse has a fastpass for a rider switch eligible ride and will be with the 2yo. My 6yo and I have a fastpass for a rider switch eligible ride at the same time. Could we ride switch same parties opposite rides?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shane!

This is a great question about some of the finer points of how to use Rider Switch when combined with FastPass+. There's so much to see and do at Walt Disney World Resort, so I totally understand splitting up in order to cover more ground with your kids, and wanting to use the Rider Switch and FastPass+ systems in the way that you described.

When you want to use those two systems together, meaning that the first riding group uses a FastPass+ to bypass the standby line while the second riding group obtains a Rider Switch return time, everyone who will eventually ride will need a valid FastPass+. Let's use your scenario as an example: if you were riding an attraction with your two-year-old using FastPass+ and your spouse was doing the same somewhere else with your six-year-old and you wanted to switch attractions using Rider Switch, you would both need a valid FastPass+ for each attraction if the first group that enters wants to bypass the standby line. Rider Switch has recently been integrated with My Disney Experience, so Cast Members do have the ability to check to make sure everyone in the party has a valid FastPass+ when you tap your MagicBand to receive your Rider Switch return time. The service is still going to be great for your family, though, because there are some hidden benefits for your six-year-old! Since the Rider Switch entitlement is good for up to three guests, they're able to ride the attraction again with the other parent if they want to. One of the perks of being the oldest!

I hope this answers your questions, Shane, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
