Hello Jim, welcome to planDisney! The
Walt Disney World Resort is full of fun for guests of all ages and heights. Luckily,
Magic Kingdom Park has plenty of options that do not have any height requirements at all. The only rides currently open at Magic Kingdom that require a guest to be a certain height are:
- The Barnstormer (35" or taller)
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (40" or taller)
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (38" or taller)
- Space Mountain (44" or taller)
- Tomorrowland Speedway (32" or taller)
- Tron Lightcycle / Run (48" or taller)
I would suggest checking the
Attractions and Entertainment page of the Disney World website as you get closer to your visit, so you can check the status of certain rides. Sometimes rides are closed for routine refurbishment. For example, as of this post,
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed from January 9 to January 13, 2024. This website is also a great tool to see what attractions and entertainment are available at all Walt Disney World locations!
While your child may not meet the height requirements for certain rides at the Magic Kingdom, I think you will find that there are plenty of fun options for you both to enjoy. Some of my personal favorites are the Jungle Cruise, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. When all else fails, head over to
Gaston's Tavern for a Warm Cinnamon Roll; that always makes my day at Magic Kingdom!
Cheers to a great visit!
