Ahoy there, M! It sounds like you’re in the beginning stages of booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation, so I’m glad you thought to stop by planDisney with your question.
Much like the many Disney Cruise ships and itineraries, there are a multitude of ways to plan your magical Disney Cruise sailing. Since it’s all a matter of preference, allow me to share my favorite method for planning my family’s next Disney Cruise.
Because I love saving money and have more flexibility with my schedule, my first click when dreaming of cruising with Disney is their
Special Offers page. While you will often find Florida Resident and US Military discounts, I also frequently find savings around 20% off select sailings that depart in the next 2-6 months. What I love about these rates is that even though I may not find out my exact stateroom until I arrive at the port, I can guarantee the stateroom category I want, including an Oceanview with Verandah.
Another fun launching point when planning is to peruse the
newest itineraries. One reason I love cruising so much is that I can visit multiple ports of call while only unpacking once! And all while experiencing the Disney magic my family has come to love so much.
Do you want a Caribbean getaway that stops at both Disney Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point? Done!
Do you want a Transatlantic sailing to experience as much time on the incredible ships as possible? There’s an itinerary for you!
Do you want to explore Europe and eat your way through the ports of call? Sounds delicious!
Or perhaps you want to experience Disney’s newest ship, the
Disney Adventure, sailing out of Singapore later this year…Be our guest!
Once you narrow down your dates and your optimal itinerary, you can start to
plan your cruise online on the robust Disney Cruise Line website, or you can
call a Cast Member to walk you through every detail. Itineraries are typically released 13-18 months in advance of the sailings, so keep that in mind as you’re looking to book your trip.
Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my favorite Disney vacation planning tool: planDisney! While my panelist pals and I don’t book Disney trips, we are Disney Guests like you who have been there and done that (many times over), so we LOVE sharing our tips and tricks with you! Feel free to
come back to planDisney as often as you’d like to ask questions about certain itineraries, our favorite restaurants onboard, or even
Port Adventures we’d recommend.
Just remember, there is no wrong way to book a Disney Cruise. And once you do, download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so you can keep an eye on your special countdown clock sprinkled with Disney emoticons (it makes the wait so much more cheerful - like a spoonful of sugar!). I can’t wait to hear what itinerary you decide on!
Embrace the magic,
Sami
