HI we are taking our 4 and 2 yr old to mickeys not so scary Halloween in 2 days,1st time exited, but not sure about two things, do they give autographs on this event, so i know to buy a book for the kids. also are any rides open, our 1st time at Disney.

    Hi Brooke,

Wow, your first visit to Walt Disney World! How exciting!

Fall is my favorite time of the year at Walt Disney World because I absolutely love Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (and the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival as well!). You're going to have a blast!

As for your first question, there will definitely be autograph opportunities during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The neat thing is that the characters you'll meet are often characters that don't typically mingle around the theme parks during non-party times.

However, I seem to recall that the characters appearing in the Villains' Dance Mix & Mingle performance (and subsequent meet-and-greet) may not be able to offer autographs.

As for your second question, many of the Magic Kingdom's attractions will be open during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Definitely plan to hit the Haunted Mansion while you're there (shocker, right!). I won't spoil the surprise, but there's an additional show element added just for the party.

If you pick up a guide map on your way into the party, they usually have a list of the attractions that will be in operation that evening. Plus, those guide maps will also show you where you can find the special events that will be going on throughout the night, as well as the trick-or-treating locations in case you'd like to snag a few pieces of candy along the way.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

There are some autograph books available for purchase in the gift shops that have a spot for the autograph and a clear plastic slot for a picture to be inserted. So, if you take pictures of your children getting autographs from the characters, you can later insert the pictures from those moments and have a mini scrapbook!

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!

    Best regards,
    Derek
