Taking our 4yr old DTR to WDW for the 1st time in October '12 & staying at The Poly Resort.Other than Grand Floridian & The Contemporary what other resort hotels are easiest to access from the Poly? Also is Downtown Disney easy to access from there?

    Hi Dorothy,

You must be so excited about your upcoming trip!  It will be amazing to experience the magic of Walt Disney World through the eyes of a four-year-old.

Downtown Disney is an easy, direct bus ride from the front of Disney's Polynesian Resort.  As you know, Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort can be accessed effortlessly by monorail.

If you hop on a monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort and then transfer to a boat behind this resort, you'll be at Disney's Wilderness Lodge pretty quickly.  That resort is also in the Magic Kingdom area of resorts at Walt Disney World.

The other Disney resorts can be reached with relative ease.  Just hop on a bus to the theme park nearest the resort of your choice and then transfer to a bus or boat headed to your destination.  As an example, if you wish to reach Disney's Boardwalk Inn, take a bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios and then board a Friendship Boat in front of that theme park.  The boat will take you to the dock at Disney's Boardwalk Inn.

Let us know if you need directions to specific resorts during your upcoming stay.  We'd be happy to help you figure out the most efficient way to reach your destination.

Thanks for posting your question to the Moms Panel!
