We are taking our 3 yr. old to Disney for the first time the week of Thanksgiving. We are going to the park the Sat. before and the Mon. of Thanksgiving week. Any tips?? I already booked our dining experiences!!

    Hi Katie,

What a magical time to visit Walt Disney World!  The parks and resorts will all be decked out in their holiday finest at that time.  When you are not planning to be in the parks, be sure to schedule some time to visit the beautiful Disney deluxe resorts.  Take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Wilderness Lodge to see the jaw-dropping Christmas tree in the lobby.  Then hop a boat to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Take the monorail from there to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.  Just wait until you see the life-size gingerbread house in the lobby at this magnificent resort.  I think you'll be truly amazed at the decorations you'll find throughout the resorts and theme parks.

Whatever you do, don't miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  My son loved Christmas lights when he was your child's age so I bet your little one will be simply enchanted by this walk-through experience.

Because you'll be visiting during a holiday, I highly recommend that you arrive at the theme park of your choice 15-20 minutes before opening time.  Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours if you are staying as a guest at a Disney resort.  These are times when the lines to attractions will be most reasonable.

Also, if your little one takes regular naps, try to keep him or her on schedule.  Everyone will enjoy their Disney experience more if they are well-rested.

There are a million more tips we could share regarding your upcoming Disney vacation.  Just let us know if there's any additional advice you need.

Best wishes for a magical family vacation!
