Moms, I am taking my 6-year-old boy to Boardwalk Villa in Jan 2015 (2-night stay before cruise on Magic). We are not visiting the parks this time. What else is there to do with a young child on Boardwalk? I saw some of the places are for adults only. Thx!

    Hi Diana,

Disney's BoardWalk Villas is my home resort with Disney Vacation Club. Even though you are not visiting the theme parks, there is so much to do within walking distance of Disney's BoardWalk Villas. I have been vacationing with my daughter at Disney's BoardWalk Villas since she was an infant, and I promise you, there is so much for children in this area!

Disney's BoardWalk Villas is situated on Crescent Lake. As you walk around Crescent Lake, you will pass Disney's Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels nearby. The number of resorts means that there are many dining options. On Disney's BoardWalk, I enjoy Big River Grille & Brewing Works with my family. Although this is a microbrewery, it is family-friendly and a good place for a burger. If you want some ice cream with that burger, head on over to Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort. This soda fountain offers some great ice cream options!

There is a ton of recreation at Disney's BoardWalk Villas. Luna Park Pool is a wonderful pool area, complete with a waterslide and a fun carnival theme. You could rent a surrey bike and spend time biking around Crescent Lake. We also enjoy spending time at Ferris W. Eahlers Community Hall. Here, your whole family can relax, play games, do crafts, and just generally spend time together. Check out the link I provided, as well as the activities guide that you receive when you check in to the resort, for a complete listing of recreation options at Disney's Boardwalk Villas.

I am sure that you will find plenty to do with your son at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Diana. Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
