I will be taking my 11 year old son this year to Disney world. We are looking at things to purchase before our trip there to make it a little more costly friendly. We have already purchased an autograph book and some character pins? Anything else?

    Hi, Carrie!

I am so happy to hear you are planning ahead.  This will not only save you money, it will save you time with not having to do any extra shopping once you arrive in WDW.  Here are some items I bring along for my vacations, most of which can be found at a dollar store or discount store:

    -Throw away rain ponchos
    -Extra sunglasses
    -Sunscreen
-Package of wipes (to clean your hands, they get yucky!)
    -Hats or visors
-Large tote bag or backpack to carry everything
-Bags of goldfish crackers or pretzels
    -Glow sticks/light up necklaces
-Pens or markers to go with your autograph book

To keep on budget with souvenirs, I purchase a Disney Gift Card ahead of time for each of my kids.  They know that once they use up their card balance, that is it, so they are very careful with their purchases!

I hope this helps!  Let me know if you have any other planning questions for your magical Walt Disney World vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
