We are taking our 2 year old son to WDW for the first time this April! I know that MK has a splah pad type area (not sure what other parks do). Would you suggest bathing suit, etc? Are there places near these areas to change? Thanks!

    Hi Kenneth,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can attest to many a hot day where we let the toddlers run WILD in the many splash pads scattered throughout Walt Disney World. You'll find the newest addition, the Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station, located in the New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom. I will warn you, Dad, you WILL get wet, but unlike our everyday lives, you won't melt in Walt Disney World! In fact, you'll likely dry in about 15 minutes! I've often thrown a bathing suit into a gallon size ziploc in my day bag for any unexpected stops to cool down, but you'll see other toddlers running around in their "Lil Swimmers." Don't stress about it ... if you forget the suit, there are merchandise carts nearby to sell you any item you might need to feel comfortable, including the swim diapers. You'll find restrooms conveniently nearby as well, and Baby Care Centers in each Disney Park offering a cool, quiet place to change and regroup.

Epcot offers splash pads near Mission Space, Test Track and Innoventions. You'll find several at both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. I can also think of two separate splash pads at Downtown Disney which my husband will tell you is a blessing while Mommy shops 'til she drops.

So can you find them almost everywhere, including Disney Resort Hotels? Yes!

Just be sure to remember a few things: the sun is really hot in Florida; hydration and sunscreen are essential. Try to remember a little water shoe so your Prince doesn't get a blister walking in wet shoes!

    Happy Planning!
