I will be taking my 4 year old son to disney for the first time feb 13-19. I have 4 day tickets and i'm wondering which parks to take him to? I also heard that i should take 2 days to do magic kingdom, is that true?

    Deborah:

I would agree that giving yourself two days at the Magic Kingdom with your 4-year-old is best. This will allow you ample time to explore all the rides, enjoy the parades, take time for meet and greets, not to mention a few Mickey bars without feeling rushed. I also would add that it gives you enough time to schedule some down time in the afternoon for a nap or just resting to get revived for the park at night, a totally different experience.

This leaves the other three parks to squeeze into two days.

My second choice: Disney's Hollywood Studios, hands down. Here, your son will meets many of the Pixar characters that today's kids know as Disney, to be honest. He'll see Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Lightning McQueen and more. Don't miss the afternoon parade.

Your final choice is between Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Some choose Epcot over Animal Kingdom because of perceived value: Animal Kingdom closes typically around 5 p.m. or so. But if your son is an animal-lover, it may be your better bet. Yes, he may not be able to ride some of the headline attractions like Expedition Everest and Dinosaur, but The Dig playground near Dinoland can spell-bind even my 10-year-old. He'll also enjoy the shows: Nemo, Flights of Wonder, and the Lion King.

If you have other older children in your party or other adults, choose Epcot, though. He'll find much to enjoy like Soarin', Club Cool, Turtle Talk, Nemo and the activities in the Innoventions building. It's just more ground to cover. But either way, I promise you won't be disappointed in your decision.

Wishing y'all a magical and memorable vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
