We are taking our 5 year old grandson to WDW and curious about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. He a fan of R2D2 but not a like he is of Toy Story. Is Galaxy's Edge something that should be on our must do list? Is it appropriate for a 5 year old?

Hi, Dave!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so excited to hEAR that you have a grand adventure planned with your grandson!  Since he is a fan of both Star Wars and Toy Story, you will definitely want to spend some time at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where guests can become immersed in both of these worlds.

At Toy Story Land, you can shrink to the size of a toy and have a blast as you explore Andy's backyard.  Toys who are 38 inches or taller can twist and turn their way through a wild ride on Slinky Dog Dash.  If your grandson is tall enough to experience this popular attraction, try to book FastPass+ for it or arrive early in the morning when wait times are at their lowest.  If your little one doesn't quite meet the height requirement for Slinky Dog Dash, Toy Story Mania! is fun for toys of all heights.  During your visit to Andy's backyard, be sure to say howdy to some of your favorite Toy Story friends.  When you play big in Toy Story Land, you're sure to work up a big appetite.  Place a time-saving mobile food and beverage order for some "Totchos," a grilled cheese sandwich, and a lunch box tart at Woody's Lunch Box.

In my opinion, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is absolutely a must-do!  I think that even casual fans will enjoy living their very own Star Wars adventure in Black Spire Outpost, and there is plenty to see and do for travelers of all ages.  Since your grandson is a fan of R2-D2, be sure to stop by Droid Depot.  Here you will find a wide variety of droid-related merchandise, as well as the build your own astromech droid experience.  While walk-ins may be accommodated, subject to availability, if you think your grandson would like to construct his own droid, I would recommend trying to book a reservation for this activity.  In addition to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, be sure to check out all of the other Star Wars experiences throughout Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Wishing you and your grandson a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
