Hello Lynn,
A first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is so exciting! There's so much to see and do that planning your stay, although enjoyable, can seem a little overwhelming. I suggest sitting down with your grandson and picking a few "must do's" Attractions in each Theme Park and then letting the rest of the magic just fall into place.
Based on my experience six (6) days is ideal for a first time visit since it will allow you to enjoy the Theme Parks (Two days at
Magic Kingdom Park and one day each at the other three theme Parks) as well as a day to enjoy your Resort Hotel. I recommend purchasing
Park Hopper Option Tickets. During my family's many visits, we have loved having the flexibility that a Park Hopper Option Ticket provides. You can start your day at one Theme Park, head back to your Resort for a nap or pool time, and then end the day at any other Theme Park that you wish to.
Here are my top picks for you and your grandson at each Theme Park:
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Kilimanjaro Safaris, TriceraTop Spin, The Boneyard
Epcot: Turtle Talk with Crush, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Living with the Land
Magic Kingdom Park: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan's Flight, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Midway Mania!, Star Tours - The Adventure Continues, Star Wars: Path of the Jedi
I hope these suggestions help in planning your visit. Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions!
Magical Wishes,
Susan
