Taking 3 and 5 year old girls who love the castle and princesses.is Polynesian have the best view and closest? Also going dec26-jan2...will it be too cold for all the pool and beach activities?

    Hi Lindsay!

    Or should I say...Aloha!

Disney's Polynesian Resort just so happens to be my absolute favorite of all the amazing resort hotels in Walt Disney World. Even if I lived in Orlando, I'd still want to book reservations there!

You asked a very good question. The "Theme Park View" rooms at Disney's Polynesian Resort have an awesome view of Cinderella's Castle. However, similar rooms at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Contemporary Resort are closer, and in some cases, may offer a better vantage point to see Cinderella's Castle from your room.

All three of those resorts are absolutely incredible, so you can't go wrong. My love for Disney's Polynesian Resort comes from the laid-back vibe, the lush landscaping, and overall theming that transports you to an island in the Pacific. When stress gets the better of me, I close my eyes and visualize that I'm strolling the grounds at the Polynesian. (Works like a charm!)

As for your question about the pool and beach activities, I think you have a 50/50 shot. The weather in Orlando can be a little funny that time of the year. You may have a day when you'll be perfectly comfortable hanging out on the beach or in the pool, while the next day may be so chilly that you'll want to cozy up to a warm mug of hot cocoa. (Keep your eyes peeled for some of the flavored hot cocoas available in the theme parks. Hazelnut is my favorite!)

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

If you snag a room with a view of Cinderella's Castle, consider watching the Magic Kingdom's fireworks from your room one evening. My daughter loves to watch them when she's tucked in her bed. (It's one heck of a way to say goodnight!)

I hope that helps. If you should have any other questions (especially about Disney's Polynesian Resort), please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help.

    Best regards,
    Derek
