We will be taking our 4 year old in February to WDW along with Grandma and Grandpa. Is it necessary to get a magic band for our 4 year old? If I purchase them for everyone (reservations are linked), will Grandma/Grandpa’s bands be linked to my credit card?

    Welcome to planDisney, Sarah!

Thank you for stopping by with your very first question. It is a pleasure to assist you as you plan a pixie-dusted family visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Although you do not have to purchase a MagicBand for your 4-year-old, I highly recommend buying one! When my oldest daughter was little, she loved wearing a MagicBand like the older kids and adults! She felt like she was also making magic and could not wait to enter the theme parks with her MagicBand – she felt so important! What I also like about MagicBands is that they make great souvenirs, and if this is your child’s first time visiting Mickey, be on the lookout for 1st Visit designs as you purchase MagicBands ahead of your stay. Please note that if grandma and grandpa have their own Disney Resort reservation, the credit card provided at the time of online check-in will be used to pay for purchases charged to their Guest room with their MagicBands.

I hope this information is helpful, Sarah! Stop by once again if you have additional questions and have a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
