Hello, Deborah! I think you will love your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort this January, when the hot weather has subsided!
While Florida is more of a tropical climate year-round, the air can get a bit nippy on certain days. When visiting during winter months, I always bring a sweatshirt and check the forecast a few days before I leave. The weather might surprise you, so pack a few layers to be prepared. February has me donning jeans, a Disney tee and a hoodie, typically, but I’ve seen both warmer afternoons and frigid mornings!
I’ve brought winter hats and a stroller blanket for my kids if the weather dips below 50 degrees. And, as always, a Mickey poncho makes my packing list for afternoon sprinkles (and that can’t-miss ride on
Splash Mountain!)
As for a bag, I personally love to carry a small cross body purse, like my
Disney-printed Dooney & Bourke. It gives me security on rides while still letting me carry items I need around the Parks. I made the same suggestion to my friends during our girl’s trip, and they loved the accessibility without feeling bogged down. If you need more space, a lightweight backpack with your family’s essentials is another great way to go. You can even
pack some snacks or a water bottle in case the munchies hit harder than Pooh’s Honeypot.
And if the chilly days appear, you might not hit the pools, but channel your inner Elsa... the cold never bothered her, anyway! ~Lindsey
