Hi Laura!
Thanks for sailing by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You and your daughters are going to have so much fun on your upcoming Disney Cruise! I wish Disney Cruise Line would have been around for me as a vacation destination when I was a teenager! I hear, all the time, about tweens and teens making ever-lasting friendships in the Youth Clubs onboard.
You are correct! Each of the Youth Clubs onboard are differentiated by age ranges. The
Edge is the perfect hangout for Guests between the ages 11 - 14! The space is a cool hangout where tweens can go and participate in tons of guided fun activities or just chill and hangout with their new friends.
Vibe is so much fun for teens ages 14 - 17! They have all-night dance parties as well as fun activities during the day. Both your daughters will have a blast in each one! With that being said, your 13-year-old daughter will probably not be able to join her older sister in Vibe and visa versa. (However, I suggest asking the Youth Counselors this exact question during the Open House hours on the first day of your voyage! It couldn't hurt!) There are many places onboard where the girls can hang out together, though! For example, they can plan to meet their new friends at the pool deck or to catch a movie in the Buena Vista Theatre.
Typically, each Youth Club has an ice breaker activity on the first night of the cruise! I highly recommend that each of your daughters attend the ice breaker in either Edge or Vibe in order to meet the other kids their age onboard right from the start!
I'm wishing you and your family a magical voyage at sea!
Beth
