Hi! I am taking my 4 year old daughter to Walt Disney World for the first time ever and to celebrate her birthday! We will be going in October. Do you have any ideas on how to make it an unforgettable experience? Thanks!

    Hi Ariadne!

Walt Disney World is a great place for a birthday celebration.  The trip itself will be a great birthday present.

You should make some reservations for Character Dining Experiences.  I suggest considering one or two of the following:
    • Cinderella's Royal Table inside Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom
    • Princess Storybook Dining in the Norway Pavilion in Epcot
    • Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort
    • 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian

If a Disney Character Dining Experience doesn't appeal to you, you should consider having her birthday celebration at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.  It is located in the Wilderness Lodge and is a lot of fun for guests of all ages.  Be sure to make an Advanced Dining Reservation for whatever you decide.

You should also consider making a reservation for her at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  There your daughter will be transformed into a princess.  There are two locations for the boutique; I recommend visiting the one in the Magic Kingdom if possible and then perhaps having dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table!  Reservations can be made by calling (407) WDW-STYLE.

By the way, since you said it is your first visit, I suggest picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good idea on everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Our responses are limited in length, but please write back with more questions!
