Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Crystal ~
I have a son with several types of special needs including Cerebral Palsy who uses a special needs stroller as a wheelchair and I'm happy to assist you. Before my son had a special needs stroller, we used a regular stroller as a wheelchair. It doesn't matter the type of stroller that you will be using. The most important thing is that your daughter will be comfortable.
You will need to visit Guest Relations in one of the theme parks to request a band that will indicate to Cast Members that you will be using your daughter's stroller as a wheelchair. They will date it to last throughout your stay up to 14 days. If your stay is longer than 14 days, you'll need to go back to Guest Relations for them to reissue a new one. Make sure you put it on a handle that is easy for Cast Members to see as you are entering attractions or other venues.
While you are at Guest Relations, you can also request a Disability Service Access Card (DAS). A Cast Member will ask you some questions regarding your daughter so they can best accommodate her specific needs. They will take her photo for the DAS, go over the terms and conditions and have you sign the card. Here is some
information about how the new Disabilities Service Access Card works.
Please feel free to visit with any other questions. We're hEAR to help!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
